There is a CECOPS committee in place which considers the robustness and the accuracy of assessment processes and reports submitted by DNV GL (the contracted assessment body), and to ensure the right questions have been asked and the right evidence sought. The committee gives final sign off to the assessment reports.
Committee members and their role include:
Brian Donnelly MSc: Brian has vast experience in these services across commissioning, service provision and clinical aspects. He has almost 20 years’ experience, working with these services, latterly as an adviser at government level. Brian ensures there is a holistic and whole system perspective considered with the assessment reports, and that they are contextualised.
Naomi Young ACA: Naomi is a chartered accountant with extensive auditing experience gained in accountancy firms. Naomi ensures the processes around assessment are robust and that they are maintained.
Dr Neil Wheeler MBA: Dr Neil Wheeler has worked for 18 years as Principal Lecturer in Oxford Brookes University teaching, consulting and researching Healthcare Management. Prior to this he spent 15 years as a clinician and manager in the NHS, and 10 years as a general manager and executive director for an NHS Trust. He is a qualified occupational therapist, with vast experience of working with these services in the community. When required, Dr Wheeler is a professional adviser and advises the committee on clinical related matters, especially where clinical assessments take place in these areas.
