Brian Donnelly MSc
Brian Donnelly is the Chief Executive of CECOPS CIC; he has a lengthy career in assistive technology related services, at operational, managerial and strategic levels.
Brian latterly worked as an adviser to the Welsh Government, where he led a £12.5m project to set up and integrate health and social care assistive technology related services. This included the commissioning and delivery of services.
He also led on the development of National Minimum Standards for assistive technology related services for the Welsh Government.
Brian went on to set up CECOPS CIC, the independent standards and accreditation body for assistive technology related services.
He is the author of the widely used Code of Practice for Disability Equipment, Wheelchair and Seating Services (UK), as well as the International Code of Practice for Planning, Commissioning and Providing Technology Enabled Care Services (TECS).
He has written CPD Certified training material for commissioning and delivery of a range of assistive technology services e.g. Digital Health, Telecare, Community Equipment, Wheelchair Services.
Furthermore, he has developed the widely used and unique self-evaluation and continuous improvement tool iCOPS®, to support commissioners and providers of assistive technology services. Visit www.icops.co.uk
Brian’s work is recognised nationally and internationally; for example, he was involved with the World Health Organisation in the development of Position Papers for Assistive Technology services.
Brian is qualified in Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), various management related topics, is a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner, and holds an MSc (with distinction) in Health & Social Care Management.
