Additional Information

The PaLS Community Equipment and Continence Service works in partnership with HSC Trusts to provide an equipment and continence supply and delivery service directly to the general public.

In order to ensure the health and wellbeing of patients/clients, Trust Occupational Therapists, Health Visitors, District Nurses, Physiotherapists prescribe daily living equipment and continence products to patients to enable them to remain healthy, safe and self-sufficient within their own home environment.

The Community Equipment and Continence Service collates prescriptions and assembles daily delivery runs for direct delivery to the patients home. This ensures that the goods are available as quickly as possible and minimises disruption to the patient by delivering direct to their home thus avoiding unnecessary journeys to collect goods that are often bulky.

The goods are currently supplied from two dedicated facilities operating in the east and west of Northern Ireland with each facility equipped with decontamination equipment to ensure that these often expensive assets are able to be used by the service safely for as long as possible.
